Beginner's - pre-intermediate level (CEFR A1 /A2.1).

Viaggiamo in ITALIA 1 covers level A1 and the first part of level A2. It contains 13 lessons (9 at level A1 and 4 at level A2.1), intended for teacher-led classes, and a workbook section at the back of the book which offers further exercises to support and consolidate each lesson. The audio tracks can be downloaded for free in MP3 format from the publisher's website.

Each lesson consists of:

• an introductory page in which the main topic and learning objectives are presented;
• section A and section B (each comprising two double-pages) which present a particular aspect of the topic with exercises to practise the new content;
• section C "Mettiamo in pratica", a double-page spread of more creative activities and exercises to revise and practise what has been learned in the lesson;
• a page of "Curiosità italiane" which presents cultural texts and images accompanied by targeted comprehension activities and vocabulary revision (only for level A1).

The workbook section for each lesson includes:

• an initial page on grammar to summarize the grammatical elements of the lesson;
• two double-pages of consolidation exercises of various types (one for section A and another for section B);
• two pages of exercises dedicated to vocabulary practice and to the communicative functions covered in the lesson;
• a test page, to assess the student's knowledge.
