Parallel Text/Dual Language Paperback, 108 pages
Nick Adams is a fictional character, protagonist of two dozen short stories. Partly inspired by Hemingway's own experiences - from his summers in Northern Michigan to his service in the Red Cross ambulance corps during World War I. Most of these stories were collected in The Nick Adams Stories. They are, for the most part, stories of initiation and adolescence. This story sets place in an Indian camp where a woman has been giving birth for 2 days due to complications and his husband has died due to, supposedly, an axe incident until Adams, although his young age, discovers otherwise..
