New research from a leading neuroscientist demonstrates that music lessons help children improve their language skills, according to a Press Association report. Not sure that this should come as a surprise in relation to learning a second language: there's lots of anecdotal evidence to suggest that young children appear more receptive to foreign words when combined with music e.g. nursery rhymes. Interestingly, one of our most popular sellers to primary-school teachers is the CD Comptines et chansons de France en Anglais et en Français. This approach would also appear to work for adults too, judged by interest in a new language learning site, LyricsTraining.com.
